The Airport Writer – Author, Professor, and Aviation Security Expert
We are honored to have Jeff as a guest speaker, as the author of two textbooks, Jeff Price is considered one of the industry’s premier experts on airport safety and security. His professional life is centered on teaching and training both current and future generations of airport professionals, as well as writing books, blogs and articles on aviation safety, security and emergency management. He provides media consultation on aviation issues throughout the world, and his expert opinions and analyses have been published by ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, TIME and Newsweek magazines, Bloomberg, AP, the Wall Street Journal, USAToday, the New York Times and many others. In addition, he has also been called upon for expert witness work (including the 9/11 case).
Some of his career highlights include working the 24-hour changeover that closed and decommissioned Denver’s Stapleton International Airport and opened Denver International Airport; serving as the Airport Manager of Jefferson County Airport, CO (aka Rocky Mountain Metro), and becoming a full Professor of Aerospace at the Metropolitan State University of Denver. He was also the Assistant Director of Airport Security at Denver International.
His two textbooks: “Practical Aviation Security”, and “Practical Airport Operations, Safety and Emergency Management” (published by Elsevier) are in use at colleges and universities throughout the world. He is also the author and trainer of the American Association of Airport Executives ACE-Security program, the AAAE Certified Member program (the body of knowledge for airport management accreditation), and many of their other training programs.
